Donegal minors to face Down in Paul McGirr semi-final this weekend
Donegal and Down will meet for the third time in the championship this season
Donegal and Down will meet this Saturday for a place in the Paul McGirr Cup All-Ireland Tier Two semi-final in Monaghan.
Scotstown GAA will play host to the match between Karl Lacey’s side and the Mournemen at 2pm, between two sides who have previously met twice in the Championship already.
The first meeting between the sides took place in Convoy at the start of May, when Donegal were coasting to victory in the Ulster minor second round at 2-17 to 0-6, when the game was abandoned due to torrential rain.
The game was replayed the following weekend and it was a much closer affair, with Donegal coming away with a 1-15 to 1-13 win in the same venue by scoring the final three points of the game against the 13-men of Down.
The winners on Saturday will face the winners of Monaghan and Louth in the final.
