Watch: Paddy McNulty's reaction after hitting winning point for Donegal Masters
In one of the most dramatic ever finishes to an All-Ireland final, Paddy McNulty scored the winner for Donegal in sudden death in Lacken, Cavan on Saturday to defeat Dublin in the All-Ireland Masters final and take home the Mick Loftus Cup.
For most of the game it looked as if the star-studded Dublin team with Bernard and Paul Brogan, Eoghan O’Gara, Ross McConnell and Kevin McManamon would take the honours.
Donegal trailed by six points in the opening half and seven points in the second but kept fighting. Goals by Brian McLaughlin and the man of the match Paddy McNulty got them to extra-time and when extra-time couldn’t separate them the game went to sudden death with the next score winning.
The drama of over 16 minutes ensued with Dublin missing chance after chance and Donegal also unable to get over the line. But then up popped McNulty to fire over the winning score.
