Frosses' Eamonn Kelly wins Tipperary Stonethrowers Rally
Donegal’s Eamonn Kelly and co-driver Niall Burns claimed victory at the Tipperary Stonethrowers Rally in Clonmel.
The pair, competing in a Toyota Yaris Rally2, finished one minute and seven seconds ahead of Cork crew Cal McCarthy and Brian Duggan, who took second place in their Citroën.
Clare’s Padraig Egan completed the top three in a Ford Escort at the final round of the National Rally Championship.
It was a disappointing finish for another Donegal driver Kevin Eves, who started as the top seed and led the rally until stage seven before his challenge came to an early end.
