Where are they now? Donegal’s heroes that took home the 2012 All-Ireland

Donegal won the All-Ireland SFC for the second time in their history in 2012, when they defeated Mayo 2-11 to 0-13 in the final at Croke Park under Jim McGuinness

Michael Murphy
As a 17-year-old Glenswilly forward, Murphy first appeared for the seniors in 2007, netting a goal on his championship debut against Leitrim. An Ulster minor winner in 2006, Young Player of the Year in 2009.
Currently, the Head of Sport at ATU Donegal and has had a sports shop in his name in Letterkenny since 2014. A three-time Donegal SFC winner with Glenswilly, Murphy won six Ulsters for Donegal and was captain in 2012, lifting Sam Maguire having scored the opening goal in the final. Retired from intercounty football in 2022 before making a comeback this year. Was involved with Donegal GAA Academy and still with club underage structures, whilst also managing LYIT (now ATU) to a Trench Cup and Sigerson Cup semi-final. Retired from county football in 2022 but back on board and a driving force once against in 2025.
