The Donegal players who bridged the gap years

With Martin O’Reilly returning to the Donegal senior in the Dr McKenna Cup having not played inter-county since 2019, it got us thinking - which players had the longest time away from the Donegal side before coming back to represent the green and gold in more recent times?

 

There are quite a few contenders but two players stand out, thanks to Fr Seán Ó Gallchóir's Book of Facts. Frank White and Eddie O'Donnell are tops with 11 and 10-year gaps. And coincidentally, they both won Donegal senior championships in 1957 with Dungloe.
