2018 - Division 1
Three defeats in their opening three matches - away to Kerry and Dublin and to Galway in Letterkenny - meant new manager Declan Bonner faced an uphill battle. A victory over Kildare in Ballyshannon meant going into the last match, at home to Mayo in Ballybofey, victory would be enough for survival. Donegal played themselves into a good position, three up in the closing stages, only for Kevin McLoughlin to make it 0-13 to 0-13, which kept Mayo in Division 1 and consigned Donegal to the drop. Bonner would guide Donegal to the Ulster SFC that summer. (14)
