Gallery and results: Glenswilly GAA Club Annual 5k attracts huge entry

The 5k had a bumper entry of over 500 on Tuesday

Glenswilly GAA club hosted a 5K event on midsummer's night, which attracted a huge entry.

Crowds of all ages undertook the course on Tuesday, with Declan Ferry from Rosses AC the winner in a time of 16:03. He was followed home by clubmate Shane O'Donnell, some 15 seconds later, with Gerard Gallagher from Finn Valley in third place in a time of 16:26.

Finn Valley's Teresa Doherty was the first female home in 16:46, followed by Claire McGuigan from Lifford/Strabane AC in 17:01 and Helen McCready from Rosses third in 17:39.

"Glenswilly GAA club would like to thank all the competitors that turned up tonight for our annual 5k," a club statement read. "There were over 570 in total, which is fantastic. Well done to everyone that took part. We would like to thank all our sponsors, the Gardaí, the stewards, the nurses in the medical tent, the paramedics, those who did registration, the ladies who provided the fantastic food, car park stewards, Herbie and Theresa McDaid, Danny McDaid for presenting the prizes, the photographers and anyone else who helped out in any way."
