Ray Sheerin (Aodh Ruadh)
Ray Sheerin won an All-Ireland U-21 medal with Roscommon in 1966 before arriving in Ballyshannon where he joined the local club and St Joseph's and then the Donegal senior panel. He was powerfully strong, a corner-back or a full-back, but mostly in a central position.

He was a great striker of a dead ball. He was unlucky not to make the starting place at corner-back. He gave a lot of service to Ballyshannon both as a player and later as a coach of the minors. He is a brother-in-law of Pauric McShea. Apart from the 1972 Ulster senior medal, Ray won Donegal SFC medals with St Joseph's. Now retired, Ray still lives locally.
