Catching the eye: Players to watch in this year’s Football Championships

With county players not playing for spells of the All-County Football League, there were a number of stand-out players who have yet to make their senior inter-county bow that will be looking to take their good form into the football championships in the coming weeks

Donegal’s U-20 captain is currently lining out for Donegal Boston and played only sporadically in the All-County Football League having seen his seasons overlap. Tobin, for many, was man of the match from wing-back in the Donegal SFC final last season when St Eunan’s overcame Naomh Conaill on a 1-11 to 0-4 scoreline and then added to that success with the Letterkenny club’s U-21A success over MacCumhaill’s.
From there it was straight into Sigerson Cup duty for Letterkenny Institute of Technology as well as with the county U-20 side, whom he captained to victory in the Leo Murphy Cup and Ulster semi-final before losing out to Tyrone in extra-time.
