Catching the eye: Players to watch in this year’s Football Championships

With county players not playing for spells of the All-County Football League, there were a number of stand-out players who have yet to make their senior inter-county bow that will be looking to take their good form into the football championships in the coming weeks

Kealan Dunleavy (Glenswilly)
The Glenswilly clubman is currently playing for Donegal Philadelphia in the United States and on Sunday, they take on Young Irelands as the championship reaches the business end. His performances for the Donegal U-20s this year were top class, kicking four points from play in the cinematic 3-16 to 2-16 extra-time loss to Tyrone in the Ulster semi-final.
Dunleavy, comfortable in various positions, saw Glenswilly relegated two weeks’ ago when they lost out to Killybegs in the Division 1 relegation play-off, and although they open their Donegal SFC with a tricky first round fixture against Naomh Conaill at home, then take on St Naul’s and will have hopes of reaching the last eight.
