Gallery: Delight for Termon and Aodh Ruadh in Donegal LGFA finals

O'Donnell Park played host on Sunday to a double-header of finals for the Donegal LGFA, with Termon squeezing out victory against Glenfin in the senior decider and Aodh Ruadh defeating Ardara in the intermediate

The showpiece of the Donegal LGFA took place on Sunday in front of a huge crowd in the region of 1,500 at O'Donnell Park in Letterkenny with their two main finals taking place.

In the intermediate decider, Aodh Ruadh overcame Ardara on a scoreline of 6-11 to 1-6, with Cait Gillespie and Terri Gallagher bagging two goals each with Keon and Eimear McMahon getting the other two in a most dominant display.

It meant a first title for the Ballyshannon-based club since 2010 and they will play senior next year.

Meanwhile, this year's senior showpiece was a dramatic affair, with Termon and Glenfin ending up level at 0-14 to 1-11 after extra-time and the match being decided on 25-metre frees, with Andy Connors' Termon scoring all five of their kicks, while Glenfin managed three from their four. Termon won out so, 0-19 to 1-14.

It put an end to Glenfin's hopes of three senior crowns in succession, although with the two clubs showing domination of the local scene, their paths will cross soon again.
