Olympic Recognition: Eilish Flanagan
A year ago Eilish Flanagan, who is attached to the US Adams State University set a new NI 3000m Steeplechase record in Oregon, USA. That performance placed Eilish in the Top 60 in the World Athletics rankings, well within the 45 places available for the Tokyo Olympics. Last year she also won the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in the 3000 metres steeplechase. Last July Eilish was selected on the Ireland team for the delayed 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo in the 3000 metres steeplechase where she ran a personal best time.
