Stephen Dunbar - The Corncrake - Tory Island
Describing how this shot was taken, Stephen Dunbar said: "On a two day trip over to Tory Island, I spent the morning and afternoon listening to multiple corncrakes calling. Finally in the evening, one jumped on to the wall and began to call. It spent around 30 minutes in the evening sun stretching its wings and calling and even seemed to sleep for a while. I always wanted to capture an image, with the light and showing the environment of the long grass and nettles that make Tory the perfect location for the corncrakes."
