The convoy of close to 70 vehicles set out from St Bridgid's Community Centre shortly after 2pm on bank holiday Monday, February 2. They travelled along the Main Street, then headed towards the N15, going as far as the Lidl roundabout in Donegal Town and back to Ballintra.

The event was organised by Naomh Brid GAA, with members out in force to assist with fundraising, marshalling, registration and refreshments on the day.

A spokesperson for the club said on the event gofundme page: “Our chosen charity is Jigsaw Donegal, who support young people across the county by providing free, confidential and non-judgmental mental health support both online and in person. 

“Jigsaw works with young people aged 12 to 25 who may be experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties such as anxiety, low mood or stress, focusing on early intervention, building resilience and valuing every young person’s mental health.

“In addition, a portion of the proceeds will go towards supporting our senior team and the revamp of the club gym.”
