Pairc na gCruacha Gorma / Blue Stack Park is a turnkey development consisting of 35 homes. It has been developed as social housing for Donegal County Council by AMCO development and constructed by Glenturas. It is situated in Drumrooske at the edge of the town, convenient to shops, services and schools.
Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District of Donegal, Cllr Micheál Naughton (FF) cut the ribbon at a ceremony on Thursday, February 12.
He said: “The development that's done here, it's a great credit to everybody involved. “It's great for Donegal Town to have this standard of housing here.”
Cllr Naughton outlined the development, saying there were 12 two-bedroom homes, eight three-bedroom houses, two with four bedrooms, and 12 single-storey houses suitable for elderly people or those with mobility issues.

“We have catered for all families here and I think great credit to Donegal County Council,” he said.
The MD cathaoirleach acknowledged the effort of council officials, architects, engineers, contractors and councillors.
“It wasn't a few people that done this, it took a full effort,” he said. “It's a huge credit to everyone involved.
“We're going to have 35 new families going to homes here in Donegal Town. I want to take this opportunity to wish those families all the best in their new homes.
“And hopefully they'll have many happy memories here.”
CEO of Donegal County Council John McLaughlin said it was a day to celebrate for Donegal Town.
“It's exciting to see openings,” he said.
“Donegal Town is one of the success stories. There are lots of houses, both private behind us, as well here, these social houses.
“They are done to high standard and well finished. That's what we want to see.”

Mr McLaughlin said the council team met every month to keep pushing housing development onwards.
“It is a lot of pressure,” he said. “But it works to bring results.
“This is a great tribute to them.”
Mr McLaughlin also acknowledged the wider team of developer and contractors involved in bringing the housing development to fruition. …
“It takes a big team,” he said. “But this becomes the result of it. It's a good day; 35 families making their homes here. And we're building communities as well.”
Mr McLaughlin thanked the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage for funding, and he acknowledged the work of the councillors of Donegal MD who were all present - Cllr Micheál Naughton (FF), Cllr Niamh Kennedy (Ind), Cllr Noel Jordan (SF), Cllr Michael McMahon (SF), Cllr Jimmy Brogan (Ind), and Cllr Michael Boyle (FG).
It is expected that occupants will be moving into the homes very soon.
Pauric Sheerin, Area Manager, Housing and Corporate Services in Donegal MD told Donegal Live: “We'll see 35 families housed in the next couple of weeks here in Donegal Town and it's the result of a lot of hard work by our housing capital section and the turnkey development with AMCO development and contractors who have put this development together.
“It's a state-of-the-art design and construction, and certainly will be welcome to the families who will have their new homes here.”
