In Pictures: Spectacular St Patrick's Day parade enjoyed by all in Donegal Town

The wind died down and the rain almost stayed away as the parade made its way through the town

There was a fantastic atmosphere in Donegal Town as hundreds of people turned out to enjoy the St Patrick’s Day parade. Click on the arrows to see Siobhán McNamara's photos:

Schools, marching bands, community organisations and businesses put on a great spectacle, with much colour, entertainment and positive energy.

Pauric Kennedy was MC for the day. He thanked the organisers, volunteers and participants for all contributing to a very successful event.

Mayor of Donegal Town Anna Gallagher presented prizes to St Francis NS for Best Community Float as the school marked its 40th anniversary with a Back to the ‘80s theme. Scoil an Leinbh Íosa, Killymard’s World Cup Fever theme was celebratory and energetic, bagging the school the Best Overall prize, while Simple Simon’s won the best window display.
