Get out and about
This is just a snapshot of what is on offer in Donegal this weekend. There are countless more free and paid activities, such as surfing, windsailing, swimming or enjoying a stroll through woodland trails and coastal paths or along the miles and miles of wonderful beaches in the county.
A visit to Malin Head, Ireland’s most northerly point is a must when touring the county, as is enjoying the many scenic drives.
There are several companies offering boat trips, giving great views of Donegal’s rugged coastline from the sea. These include Sliabh Liag Boat Trips (pictured below), Donegal Bay Waterbus, and Amazing Grace Yacht Charter.
And if you love animals, you can walk with alpacas, see exotic creatures at Alcorn’s Tropical World, or get up close to bears and wolves in Wild Ireland.
You can also see traditional crafters and contemporary artisans at work at Donegal Craft Village in Donegal Town, or step back in time with the Glencolmcille Folk Village, and catch the Glencolmcille Agricultural Show while you're there.
And there are no end of wonderful places to eat, from fine dining and gastro pubs, to artisan gelato ice creams and delightful coffee shops, or a unique amenity such as the one-stop tour - food - gift shopping Sliabh Liag Cliff Experience
Whether you are visiting the county or living here, we hope you enjoy some of the many activities that it has to offer this August Bank Holiday weekend and beyond.
