The Cunning Little Vixen follows a young fox whose capture sparks a journey of courage, escape, and self-discovery in the freedom of the forest. Janáček’s opera reflects the cycle of life rather than a simple fairy tale, blending rich folk-inspired melodies, humour, and the vivid sounds of nature. American soprano Amber Norelai leads as the Vixen, joined by Jade Phoenix as the Fox and Benjamin Russell as the Forester, with direction by Sophie Motley and performances by the Irish National Opera orchestra and chorus.
