Tree removal took on a whole new meaning in Letterkenny on Thursday afternoon as workers used a digger to relocate a a number of them from their original footpath location outside Dunnes Stores on the Oldtown Road.
The work is part of Irish Water's continued delivery of improvements to the wastewater infrastructure in the town. Work has been ongoing to lay new pipes over a number of days. Up until Tuesday evening it meant the closure of one lane of traffic. Work has now moved on to ripping up a footpath and extracting the trees in the process.
