Newly elected Donegal County Councillor, Declan Meehan, has promised to "shake things up" in office.
Meehan - who was the first to be elected in the Milford LEA - topped the polls with 2,074 votes.
Speaking to Donegal Live, he said, "I intend to shake things up 100%. To my voters, all I can say is thank you very much and that I will deliver for you and do my best every single day of this five year term, and it will not be a case of disappearing for four years and only turning up again in an election year. I will be there every day."
The new councillor said he was "really proud" of the campaign he and his team ran.
He said, "I'm so grateful to everyone who did vote for me and I look forward to working for the whole electoral area now over the next five years."
When asked if he expected to top the polls, Councillor Meehan said, "To be honest I think that if you had your ear to the ground at all in the Milford electoral area you knew that there was an appetite for change there.
"People didn't want the same three representatives going in for another five years, and what we have is we have that change now and that is what people wanted and I look forward to working with the other two councillors when they're elected later today. I think we'll make a very good team representing the whole of the electoral area."
