Davy and Matthew Byrne have announced the release of their debut single "He Likes Flowers".
The duo who are from St John’s Point, perform under the name Proton Pool Party. Their next gig is scheduled to take place at the Cottage Bar in Letterkenny this Saturday.
"He Likes Flowers" was recorded in Clannad's studio in Wicklow and produced by Paul and Aisling Jarvis. The song is available to pre-save now on Spotify. Proton Pool Party is mentored by Moya Brennan and has had the opportunity to open for Ralph McTell, The Four of Us, Johnny Boxty Gallagher and Luka Bloom.
Davy is a singer and guitarist who has been writing songs for seven years and Matthew is a guitarist whose previous band won the acclaimed Letterkenny International Buskers festival in 2021. He is currently studying music at the University of Galway.
As well as the duo's upcoming pride gig, they will play live in the studio on Highland Radio’s Monday Night Sessions on August 12.
