A bumper entry list has been confirmed for this weekend’s Knockalla Hill Climb.
The event takes place on the famous Knockalla hill on Saturday and Sunday.
Entries closed on Friday and Clerk of the Course for the Sunday running, Larry Harper, says that ‘all kinds of cars’ from Minis, Escorts, M-Sport Fiestas, M3 rally cars and single-seaters will be in Donegal.
“There really is something for everyone to see like every year at Knockalla,” Harper said.
Kelly's Toyota are this year's title sponsor and the organisers are also happy to confirm that there are now also three associate sponsors on board: CBM Signs.ie; DMG Motors; and Callaghan Transport.
TMet has also come on board looking after the marshals with goodie bags for this weekend.
Michael Kelly will act as the COC for Saturday’s action.
“As well as the Danny Gormely and John Lenister Memorial Trophies as the top prizes, we are also introducing a new Two Day Rally Challenge,” Kelly said.
“This is a prize designed specifically for the clubman rally classes and has got a great response as we can see from the entries. It is a simple concept all about the driving skill of consistency over the two days.
“Your most consistent two times each day will be scored and whichever driver is the most consistent up the hill over the two days will win the new Rally Challenge.
“This prize is for the clubman and is all about skill as any driver from a Micra to a class 14 Escort car has the possibility of winning. Power and budget alone cant win this new prize.”
There will be prizes sponsored which are: 1st place - Є300 voucher from Powertune Performance Parts; 2nd prize - Є200 voucher from Auto Options; 3rd prize - Є100 voucher from Synergy Motorsport.
Chief marshal Francie Devine is organising marshals and is always on the look out for new help both youthful and experienced rally people. To find out more Francie can be contacted on 087-6205328 or 0044 7851 084821.
