Seamus Coleman was on Sunday night awarded the BBC Match of the Day 2 ‘Goal of the Month’ for February.
The Killybegs native scored the only goal as Everton defeated Leeds United 1-0. Viewers of the show voted it as the winner, with 29% of the vote. James Ward-Prowse’s winning free-kick against Chelsea finished second, while Leicester’s Nampalys Mendy against Tottenham Hotspur and Willian, for Fulham in their clash with Nottingham Forest, finished joint-third. Coleman’s Everton drew 2-2 with Forest on Sunday afternoon.
