The countdown for the Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure Senior Championship final is well underway after the press day for the event in the Villa Rose Hotel, Ballybofey, on Saturday.
Glenswilly and Kilcar will go head to head in MacCumhaill Park at 4pm on Sunday and both clubs were represented at the event.
Michael Murphy, in the unusual position of sponsoring and also playing in the final, quipped at the event that he had to get a reminder about his role leaving the house on that morning.
"I was going out the door with a Gleswilly top on when my mother said I needed to change into something more neutral!" said the Glenswilly man, speaking on behalf of the sponsors.
The press day was well attended, which shows the interest in the big game on Sunday next. Referee for the contest will be Shaun McLaughlin of Malin, while Sean Paul Doherty of Urris will be in charge of the curtain-raiser, the Senior B decider between Gaoth Dobhair and St. Eunan's.
BIG WEEKEND FOR DOWNINGS
Meanwhile, it was an historic weekend for Downings as they took home the spoils in the Junior A and Junior B finals in O'Donnell Park, Letterkenny. They defeated Letterkenny Gaels in the opening game while they needed a late burst to get past Naomh Padraig, Muff, in the Junior A contest.
In the Intermediate final, Milford and Burt will have to meet again as their final ended all square. With the winners out in the Ulster championship on Sunday next, the replay has been fixed back in O'Donnell Park on Saturday next with a 4.30 p.m. throw-in.
