Bus Éireann has recognised a Donegal woman’s efforts to create a positive workplace environment to bring colleagues together.

Caroline Gallagher of Stranorlar has received the Wellbeing Award in the West at the 2026 GEM Awards.

Caroline regularly organises activities that help colleagues connect and build relationships outside their everyday work. These include bowling and team-bonding nights, as well as a step challenge that encourages colleagues to get active.

Her commitment to organising events and giving her personal time has helped foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere in the Donegal office.

Her efforts show how simple, inclusive activities can encourage workplace wellbeing and bring people together.

Rory Leahy, Chief Safety & Sustainability Officer at Bus Éireann, said, “Caroline makes a real difference to the atmosphere in the office by creating opportunities for colleagues to connect, enjoy themselves and stay active.

“Her bowling nights, team events and step challenge show the thought and effort she puts into supporting the wellbeing of others. Her contribution deserves to be recognised and celebrated.”

The award recognises Caroline’s enthusiasm, generosity and commitment to making the workplace a more positive environment for her colleagues.

The Bus Éireann GEM Awards are an annual recognition programme designed to celebrate the outstanding achievements, customer service, performance, and community impact of the company's workforce across Ireland.
