Audiences can look forward to two nights of adventure, romance, music and plenty of laughs as Shrek, Donkey, Princess Fiona and a whole host of fairytale misfits take over the Millennium Forum in Derry. It’s a tale of friendship, acceptance and discovering that true beauty lies beneath the surface.

Leading the cast is Lewis Kelly as Shrek, with Eva Van Dessel taking on the role of Princess Fiona, Eoghan O’Boyle playing Lord Farquaad and James O’Toole bringing the lovable Donkey to life.

Behind the scenes, an enormous effort is underway to ensure everything is ready for opening night next month. More than 140 students are involved in the production, both onstage and backstage, showcasing the wealth of talent, creativity and enthusiasm within Crana College.

Music teacher Laura Keogh, who is producing the show, said she was delighted to be bringing another musical to the stage with the school this year.

“I am honoured to be producing another musical at Crana College this year. This production of Shrek The Musical JR. is fun, energetic and hilarious.”

Ms Keogh also praised the dedication of the staff and creative team, who “are working after school and weekends to bring another fantastic show to The Millennium Forum. We look forward to seeing you all there for singing, dancing and lots of laughs.”

With so much hard work going into the production, the Crana College team are determined to make this a show fit for a fairytale ending. From the first note to the final curtain, audiences can expect a production packed with personality, humour and plenty of Shrek-sized surprises.

Shrek The Musical JR. will take to the stage at the Millennium Forum on Monday, November 9, and Tuesday, November 10.
