Daniel O'Donnell donates latest concert takings to Creeslough fund

Kind-hearted Daniel O’Donnell donated all proceeds from his latest concert to the Creeslough Disaster Fund.

The Kincasslagh crooner plays to a packed house at the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran on Thursday night.

Daniel told fans that the profits from the sold-out gig will be donated to the Creeslough fund.

Daniel learned of the horrific explosion, which claimed ten lives, last October while about to board a flight back to Dublin from Chicago.

“I have never witnessed anything like this,” he said at the time.

The ESB has said that repair crews are working to fix the issue, which was reported between 10-11am on Saturday

“It’s just unbelievable. There are no words that can console or comfort or make a difference to the people affected. I don’t know how they are going to manage to get through it.”

In November, Daniel took part in one of a series of Novena Masses at St Michael’s Church.

He said: "It’s beyond belief for a small community. I don’t know honestly how people step forward. I do not know. All I can say is that I looked at Hamish – the little boy who spoke at his father’s funeral – and I thought the strength that he and his mother got up and did it.”

Daniel recently released his latest single, How Lucky I Must Be, and an album of the same title will be available in November.

The 61-year-old is set to embark on a tour of the United States with forty shows planned between September and December. Daniel’s US tour begins in Rapid City, South Dakota, on September 24.
