Bambie Thug, with the song 'Doomsday Blue', will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, having emerged victorious on The Late Late Show Eurosong special on Friday night.

The artist, from Macroom in Co. Cork, will now travel to Malmö, Sweden in May, where Ireland will compete in the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, bidding to qualify for the grand final on Saturday, May 11.

The Irish public took to social media to react to Ireland's entry for Eurovision 2024.

One 'X' user posted: "Bambie Thug has all the delicious ingredients for a big Eurovision moment. They need to amp up the staging and concept, add support vocals, and lean into the witchcraft. The crowds are already loving it. They smashed that encore performance."

While another social user said: "Bambie Thug with a proper Eurovision production, it could at least get us to the finals. Right choice."
