Sebastian Barry and Emma Donoghue are both in contention for the Dublin Literacy Award 2024
Novels by two Irish Authors Sebastian Barry, and Emma Donoghue, have been shortlisted for the Dublin Literacy Award 2024.
Emma Donoghue's 'Haven' and 'Old God's Time' by Sebastian Barry are in contention for the prestigious award.
The Dublin Literacy Award, sponsored by the Dublin City Council, celebrates excellence in literature. This being the 29th anniversary of said award. The prize money for the award is €100,000 and is the world's most valuable prize for a single work of non-fiction published in English.
The two Irish authors will be up against 4 other books in the shortlist which include: 'If I Survive You' by Jonathan Escoffery, 'Praisseworthy' by Alexis Wright, 'Solenoid' by Mircea Cărtărescu, and 'The Sleeping Car Porter' by Suzette Mayr.
The winner of the award will be announced on the 23rd of May at the International Literature Festival Dublin in Merrion Square Park.
