Dublin will host boyband auditions this summer as music mogul Simon Cowell searches for the next One Direction.
Cowell - who famously formed the beloved band - will take auditions on the road in four cities across Ireland and the UK in the hopes of striking gold and finding "future megastars".
Although auditions will not take place in typical X-factor style, it's believed the search will be documented as part of a band documentary.
According to the Irish Mirror, Dublin auditions will take place on Sunday and Monday July 28 and 29, while further auditions will also run in Newcastle (July 4 and 5), Liverpool (July 7 and 8), and London (August 1, 2, and 3).
Cowell is reportedly looking for applicants aged 16-18 who can sing and dance and want to be the next One Direction.
He announced news of the search in a TikTok video posted yesterday (June 5); in the clip, Simon can be seen climbing a ladder to paste a poster with the phrase 'Simon Needs You' onto a wall in London.
Turning to the camera, he stated, "Right, stop scrolling. This is the moment to change your life."
According to the Irish Mirror, Cowell has launched the search because "every generation deserves a megastar boyband".
He said, "I don’t think there has been one to have the success of One Direction in over 14 years. The industry tends to focus on solo artists - so it usually takes someone from outside to put a group together.
"Nothing beats the fun of being in a group, touring the world and performing for thousands – and it’s also a brilliant launchpad for a solo career. When you have a great group, it’s like lightning in a bottle but there’s no magic formula and a fair bit of luck involved!"

Closing date for applications is Wednesday July 31 and, if selected, applicants must be available for auditions in July 2024 and filming from October 2024 through to January 2025.
