Creator of hugely popular Irish show, Kin, Ciaran Donnelly has provided an update on season 3 of RTÉ series stating that the season 3 of the show is a "very complex" situation.

The breakout crime thriller has recently made its way to Netflix and has captured even more audiences then it did on its initial release on the RTÉ, leading to widespread speculation about when a third season of the show is likely to make its way to TV screens.

Speaking to Joe.ie abut the possibility of a third season he says "Well, this is where I have to be careful" Going on to say that the situation is "very complex".

Then talking about why a third season of the show is up in the air Donnelly says "This is public knowledge, there’s no secret here. But the main financier of the show Bron Studios went bust. So initially… all the work I’d come up with, all that IP if you like, to get the thing financed – what you have to do is sign over your IP. Because the financier has to own it basically.  They have to have the rights to it so that they can legitimately go and finance the thing. They can’t finance something they don’t own. So they went bust and the rights are tied up in the sale of assets."

This gives us some indication on the hotly anticipated season 3 of Kin and hopefully it won't be too long till we have more news.
