An Grianan Theatre first opened back in 1999
An Grianán Theatre has stood as a beacon for the arts in Donegal, a place where stories are shared, voices are heard, and community is celebrated.
At the heart of every performance, every standing ovation, and every magical moment are the seats that have held generations of theatre-goers. Those very seats, installed when the theatre first opened in 1999, have served well, but they have reached the end of their journey.
Now, An Grianán Theatre are calling on our community to help them take the next step: by sponsoring a seat, you can help shape the future.

“Sponsoring a seat is more than just a donation - it is a personal investment in the continued life of live theatre in Donegal,” a spokesperson said. “Your contribution will go directly toward replacing our worn-out seats with new, modern, comfortable seating that enhances the experience for everyone who walks through our doors. More than that, it is a way to leave your mark on a place that means so much to so many.
“When you sponsor a seat, your name - or a name of your choosing - will be engraved on a plaque affixed to one of our new seats. It could be a tribute to a loved one, a celebration of a milestone, a birthday gift, or simply a gesture of support for the arts. You will also receive a personalised certificate of sponsorship and your support will be publicly acknowledged online and in our lower foyer.
“Individual seat sponsorship is available for €250. For businesses, we offer corporate sponsorship for €1000, which includes brand visibility, tax relief eligibility, and the opportunity to align your name with one of the North West’s most respected cultural institutions.”
To sponsor a seat, please visit angrianan.com, call 0749120777, or email our Business Development Manager at richard@angrianan.com. If a full sponsorship isn’t possible right now, you can still help by making a one-off donation. Every contribution, large or small, makes a difference.
