A Letterkenny woman is among the 24 players who have entered Slane Castle ready to outwit, outplay and outlast in the ultimate game of trust and deception in a new television series.
The Traitors Ireland commenced on RTÉ on Sunday night, with Dublin City University Business graduate Kelley Higgins, the daughter of Brian and Denise Higgins (Duffy) on board.
Kelley has previously appeared on reality TV as a background diner on RTÉ's First Dates. In the first episode of The Traitors Ireland, Kelley was chosen to be a faithful - but she could still be recruited by the Traitors further in the series.
Kelley and her fellow faithfuls must now work together to correctly guess Traitors at the round table discussions each night. The Traitors chosen by Siobhán McSweeney in the first episode were Eamon, a garda from Tipperary, leadership consultant Katelyn from Galway and 68-year-old retired prison officer Paudie from Limerick.
Each of the contestants brings their own personality, background and game plan but who will survive the twists, turns and betrayals that lie ahead.
Siobhán McSweeney - best known for her role as Sister Michael in the teen sitcom Derry Girls - is host and takes charge into chaos, suspicion and stylish skulduggery. Each day, the group of 24 hopefuls embark on Missions as they work together to add more money to the potential prize pot of €50,000.
Shot on the banks of the Boyne in Slane Castle, this spine-tingling new adaptation of the global phenomenon brings suspicion, strategy and sabotage to Irish soil. The Traitors Ireland will air on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays at 9:35pm.
Companion series The Traitors Ireland Uncloaked, presented by Kevin McGahern, will continue to broadcast from Limerick, and is set to be the ultimate post-show destination for fans across Ireland.
