Morag McCafferty is providing a free creative workshop in Mullachdubh (Mullaghduff).

The self-taught Scottish artist will be providing a socially impactful art project run by PEACEPLUS later this month. The 15-hour creative workshop will run for six weeks and is designed for individuals curious about art but with limited experience.

“The workshops aim to reduce fear, build confidence in creativity, and encourage connection and positive interaction across diverse backgrounds, in keeping with the aims of the Peace Plus programme,” Morag said.

“We will explore a range of creative approaches beyond painting and drawing, with the shared goal of developing each participant’s own response to art in a relaxed, supportive environment.

“The programme will conclude with a group exhibition, offering participants the opportunity to showcase what has emerged through the process—celebrating creativity, expression and shared experience".

The art classes will run for six weeks, starting on Wednesday, January 28, at Mullachdubh Community Centre. Those who have no experience painting are welcome to attend; the only stipulation is that every class has to be attended.

Funded by PEACEPLUS, the project is part of the wider Special EU Programmes Body SEUPB Theme 2 - Thriving and Peaceful Communities - Cultural Connections Peace Programme for the Glenties Municipal District.

Names can be taken by DM to Sally Rodgers, PEACEPLUS project co-ordinator.
