Kayla is the daughter of Eamon and Breige Porter. Kayla currently attends St Mura’s Primary School, Tooban. Kayla’s grandparents are Eddie and Rose Porter (Cockhill Park), and her granny is Bridget Grant (Burnfoot).

Aoife and Méabh are twins, daughters of Karl and Irene Scanlon, Karl originally from Dingle, Co Kerry, where the twins grandparents Danny and Noreen Scanlon reside.

The twins are now students at Crana College, and went to Scoil Íosagáin primary school. The girls also share a close family connection, as Aoife and Méabh’s mother Irene and Kayla’s father Eamon are brother and sister, making Eddie and Rose Porter proud grandparents to all three performers.

The dancers train with Elite Dance Academy in Buncrana under teachers Clare, Aoife McE and Aoife McG, who expressed immense pride in the girls’ achievements. Filming took place over two days in Dublin at the RTÉ studios, followed by a day in our dance studio, where additional footage was captured featuring fellow dancers and the wider community.

"Elite Dance Academy extends sincere thanks to everyone involved in the production, all our dancers and to local business Spar Umrycam owned by Eileen and Karl McDaid, who let the dancers and film crew take over the shop for the afternoon to film, everyone who helped make the experience so memorable," Elite said.

"The academy wishes to congratulate Aoife, Méabh and Kayla on this wonderful achievement and thanks their families for their continued support. To all our dancers and their families we are so unbelievably proud. Their appearance on national television is a proud moment for all involved and a fantastic reflection of local talent in Buncrana."
