Ethan Dewhirst claims victory in Portugal

Ethan Dewhirst won in Portugal on Tuesday night.

The Tir Chonaill AC took victory in a 400m hurdles race at Meeting Cidade de Lisboa.

Dewhirst won in 52.14 seconds at Estadio Universitario.

Miguel Marques of Portugal finished second in 52.71 with Paulo Soares, also from Portugal, third in 53.99.

The 18-year-old from Glenties has reached the qualifying time for the European Athletics U20 Championships, which take place in Tampere, Finland in early August.
