Five Donegal boxers won gold at the Halloween Box Cup in Belfast on Monday.

Three punchers from Twin Towns Boxing Club and two from St Bridget’s Clonmany were victorious in the competition hosted by the County Antrim Board at the Girdwood Community Hub in Belfast.

Twin Towns’ Caoimhin Connolly took gold in the male youth 50kgs division.

Connolly overcame Aleksej Lazic in Monday’s final. Connolly was given a unanimous decision by the judges to see off the St Nicholas BC lad.

Earlier this month, Connolly won gold at the Boxam Junior/Youth Tournament in Spain, defeating Edgar Morales from Mexico in the final at the Muixara Pavilion in La Nucía.

In his semi-final, Connolly overcame Noah Bacon from Saints BC while Lazic stopped Thomas Joyce of Angels BC in his semi.

His Twin Towns BC colleague Brian Anderson won the senior cadet boys 66kgs crown.

Anderson overcame Cayden Cummings from Cookstown, taking a 2-1 split decision having had a UD win over Connor Lowry from East Down in his semi.
