Donegal had lowest average of disposable income during Covid

Donegal was the county which had the lowest average disposable income per person in 2021 at the height of the pandemic, according to figures released from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

In 2021, the people of Donegal had just €19, 253 available in disposable income per person when the pandemic peaked.

Residents in Laois and Kilkenny also showed low disposable income at that time, falling just under the €20,000 mark.

By contrast, those living in Dublin had the most disposable income during the same period with the people of Dublin having an average disposable income of €27,958 per person in 2021.

According to the CSO, while the figures involve a degree of uncertainty the gap between the lowest and highest county income per person has widened and now stands at €8,705, an increase of €1,740 from 2020.
