Businesses in need of help can contact Donegal LEO's business advisor Philip O'Kennedy
A business advisor with Donegal Local Enterprise Office (LEO) has stressed that there is a range of support services for those who are struggling in the current economic climate.
Philip O’Kennedy was addressing concerns raised by councillors at the March meeting of the Municipal District (MD) of Donegal.
A number of councillors expressed grave concerns about the pressure that business owners were under. Staff costs, energy bills and the overall increase in costs across every area are all leading to business closures in the county.
Mr O’Kennedy told councillors: “There are a number of supports which we can provide.
“We can get someone to go in to look at the costs of their business - how they can be more efficient, now they can cut costs.
“We can help them look at how to be more sustainable and the importance to customers of businesses having a green agenda.
“I am particularly keen to get business plans up to date. A lot of businesses are operating with business plans that are ten years old or more.”
Mr O’Kennedy said there were many more supports available, and he encouraged business owners to get in touch.
“If they want mentorship on any aspect of their business we can help with that too,” he said.
“I acknowledge that there is a lot more that people want.
“Spread the word; they can contact me. I am happy to support them as much as I can.”
