A car which was discovered in a secluded area on the grounds of St Conal’s Hospital was very badly damaged, gardaí say.

The car was discovered at 5.45am on Monday, January 23, at the rear of the old hospital.

The silver Toyota Vitz car with the partial registration plate 09 WH, had significant damage done to the front bumper, the driver’s side window was smashed and the ignition of the car was damaged and removed.

Gardaí are making enquiries to find the registered owner of the vehicle as part of the investigation.
