A Letterkenny man will go on trial for attacking his mother and his grandmother.
Sloan Murphy, a 24-year-old, of Glenoughty Close, Letterkenny, will go before Letterkenny Circuit Court.
He is charged that on October 14th at Fairgreen Hill in Letterkenny, he intentionally or recklessly caused serious harm to his grandmother, Reba Cullen.
On the same date he is also charged with assaulting his mother Sharon Graham causing her harm.
Murphy is also charged with taking a car without the consent of the owner, Reba Cullen.
Sergeant Jim Collins gave evidence of serving a book of evidence on Murphy's solicitor, Mr Frank Dorrian, at Letterkenny courthouse.
Murphy appeared via videolink from Castlerea Prison, where he is in custody.
Sergeant Collins told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has consented to Murphy being forwarded for trial to the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court, which commences in May.
Judge Éiteáin Cunningham administered the alibi warning and issued a section 56 order relating to recordings of interviews.
Legal aid was granted to Mr Dorrian and two legal counsel were assigned.
Mr Dorrian said no bail application was being made on behalf of his client.
