Garda probe as 24 sheep stolen from St Johnston farm

The sheep were stolen between Wednesday and Friday last week

€2 million boost for Donegal sheep farmers

Twenty-four sheep were stolen from a farm in St Johnston last week.

Gardai are investigating the theft of 19 male sheep and five female, which were black in colour.

The theft took place from a farm at Ballyboe, St Johnston sometime between 5pm on Wednesday, February 15 and 11am on Friday, February 17.

Twelve of the sheep have a red marking sprayed on their head and four have blue sprayed on their back.

A Garda spokesperson said: "We are unsure whether the other 8 had markings or not.

"If anybody has any information in relation to this theft or in relation to the current whereabouts of these animals, we ask them to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100."
