Donegal man fined for misuse of green diesel

Green diesel.

A Donegal man has been fined for the ‘misuse use of marked mineral oil’.

Paul McGinley, of Killmasney, New Mills, Letterkenny, was fined €2,500.

The Revenue brought charges against McGinley for misusing green diesel.

He is one of 31 people on the latest list of tax defaulters for issues pertaining to the misuse of marked mineral oil.

In respect of such cases, fines totalling €85,500 were imposed.

The Revenue’s latest list of defaulters contains details of published settlements from 1 October 2022 to 31 December 2022.

The list includes persons in whose case the Court has determined a penalty relating to a settlement, or has imposed a fine, imprisonment or other penalty in respect of a tax or duty offence.
