Letterkenny man pleads guilty to animal cruelty

The man appeared before Letterkenny Circuit Court on a charge relating to the ill-health or neglect of a foal.

A Letterkenny man has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty.

Danny Connors appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court on Tuesday in relation to the incident which took place at Canal Road in Letterkenny on January 16, 2020.

The charge relates to the ill-health or neglect of a foal.

Details of the incident were not given during an arraignment hearing at Letterkenny courthouse.

Mr Connors, aged 48, spoke only to plead guilty.

Mr Ciaran Elders, Barrister for Connors, said he was seeking to have the matter adjourned to the June sessions of the court to allow for the preparation of paperwork.

He also sought a probation and community service report, which was agreed to by Judge John Aylmer.
