Man arrested after crash with vintage tractor

The impact of the collision knocked a vintage International tractor into a hedge and a man was arrested after failing to stop.

A man was arrested in Donegal after failing to stop when his vehicle collided with a tractor in Drumkeen at the weekend.

The impact of the collision knocked the vintage International tractor into a hedge. Eyewitnesses say the tractor was almost at a 45-degree angle.

The driver of the tractor was on his way to a charity tractor run which was due to begin in Drumkeen.

The collision occurred in Drumkeen at 1.53pm.

The driver of the car, a man in his late 60s, failed to stay at the scene and was arrested.

A spokesperson for the Garda Press Office told Donegal Live that the man was 'conveyed to Garda Station in the North Western region'.

“Investigations are ongoing,” the spokesperson said.
