A new mother has appeared in court in Letterkenny on a money laundering charge.

Sentebaleng Selebalo pleaded guilty to the charge,

Selebalo, a 30-year-old of Clonard Park, Ballybeg, Waterford, is charged that on June 26, 2020, at a place within the State, converted, transferred, handled, acquired, possessed or used the property, namely €2,015 in a Revolut account in her name knowing that or was reckless to whether or not the property was the proceeds of criminal conduct.

Selebalo spoke only to plead guilty to the charge.

Ms Fiona Crawford BL, barrister for Selebalo said her client gave birth to a child last autumn.

Judge John Aylmer adjourned the matter until the October sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court and directed that a probation and welfare report be prepared.
