A man had part of his ear bitten off during an assault in Ardara at the weekend.
The man, who is aged in his 20s, was hospitalised following the incident.
The attack occurred on Ardara’s Main Street at around 10pm on Saturday night.
The victim received treatment at Letterkenny University Hospital for what Gardai described as ‘non-life threatening injuries’.
Gardai are probing the serious assault and have issued an appeal for information.
An investigation is being conducted by officers at Glenties Garda Station.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are asking anyone who has camera footage, including dash-cam and who were travelling on the N56 around that time to make it available to Gardai.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Glenties Garda station on 074 955 1080, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
