Man charged to appear in court over thefts from cars in east Donegal

A man in his 30s has been charged and will be brought before Glenties District Court this morning following a spate of thefts from cars in the Convoy, Raphoe and Castlefin areas at the weekend

Sixteen new Gardai to be stationed in North West region

A man has been charged in connection with a spate of thefts from cars in the east Donegal area at the weekend.

The man, who is aged in his 30s, has been charged and will be hauled before Glenties District Court this morning.

The man was arrested on Tuesday following the search of a premises. He was detained for questioning at a Garda Station in Donegal under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Having been quizzed by officers, the man was later charged.

On Tuesday morning, gardai swooped on a premises in the Letterkenny Garda District.

The search and subsequent arrest came following several incidents in the Convoy, Raphoe and Castlefin areas over the weekend.
