A man has appeared in court charged with dangerous driving causing the death of another man.

Shaun Duffy appeared at Buncrana District Court charged with dangerous driving causing the death of Mervyn McClure.

The charge is contrary to Section 53 (1) of the Road Traffic Act of 1961.

Mr McClure passed away following a three car collision on July 5, 2022 on the N13 road at Sharon Glebe, Newtowncunningham.

Duffy, aged 49, with an address at Trillick, Buncrana did not speak during the brief hearing.

The late Mr McClure, from Lurgy in Letterkenny, was in his 70s at the time he was killed in the tragedy.

The case was adjourned to May 5, 2024 next for the service of a book of evidence.
