A man has appeared in court on a series of charges following an alleged incident in Bundoran last Monday.

Conor Clarke was granted bail after a €1,000 cash lodgement was put forward on his behalf.

The 32-year-old was remanded in custody when he appeared before Dungloe District Court on Tuesday, but was granted bail on Friday when he was brought to Ballyshannon District Court.

Clarke, of O'Kane Park in Strabane, has been charged with alleged offences at Station Road, Bundoran, on February 12, 2024.

Clarke is charged with assaulting a named woman at that location.

He is charged with taking possession of a mechanically propelled vehicle without the consent of the owner, the same person who was the alleged victim of the assault.

Clarke is also charged with stealing €700 and stealing a mobile phone from the same woman.

Inspector Angela Cummins told the court that directions are required on some matters.

Clarke was represented by solicitor Mr Rory O'Brien.

Judge Patricia Cronin adjourned the case until May 3 to allow for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Clarke was remanded on bail.
